The last day of the Christmas term always goes with a bang at Hope Valley College. All eighteen tutor groups create their own activity stall to raise money for charity. The staff and students then pay to play on the activities for the morning. The stalls included chocolate fountains, candyfloss, raffles, homemade truffles and ‘sprout’ baubles, ‘Guess the weight’ of a present and the ‘holding a plank position competition’ for all to view on the stage. This day was also a ‘go festive’ day to raise money for Voluntary Service Overseas; a charity that places professionals all over the world to fill skilled labour gaps in developing countries. Students and staff came dressed in Christmas tree suits, turkey hats and flashing lights!
